1.6 Million Candidates Registered for UTME 2025 as Deadline Approaches

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reported that 1,687,860 candidates have registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as of March 3, 2025. With the set for March 8, 2025, the board is encouraging all prospective candidates to finalize their registration promptly to avoid missing out.

 Rise in JAMB Registrations

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has observed a steady increase in the number of registered candidates since the UTME registration began on February 3, 2025. Here’s a breakdown of the progress over the past four weeks:

– Week 1: 201,867 candidates registered
– Week 2: 560,025 candidates registered
– Week 3: 528,832 candidates registered
– Week 4: Total reached 1,290,715 candidates

With the deadline approaching, daily registrations have surged, exceeding 1.6 million candidates for the April 2025 UTME.

No Extension for 2025 UTME Registration

JAMB has confirmed there will be no extension beyond the March 8, 2025 deadline. The registration period was designed to ensure smooth coordination of other examination processes, including:

– Conducting the Mock UTME on April 5, 2025
– Administering the main UTME between April 25 and May 5, 2025
– Processing results and admissions into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education

Candidates are urged to complete their registration promptly, as any who miss the deadline will need to wait until 2026 for the next UTME.

JAMB Pays ₦1.2 Billion to CBT Centres

To facilitate a seamless registration process, JAMB has paid ₦1.2 billion in service charges to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide. This payment covers the cost of handling registrations and ensuring a smooth process at accredited centres.

Candidates are advised to only register at approved CBT centres and avoid cybercafés, as registrations outside JAMB-approved centres may be invalid.

Final Reminder for UTME 2025 Registration

With just six days remaining, JAMB has urged all candidates who haven’t registered yet to do so immediately. Delays could result in overcrowding at CBT centres and potential technical issues that may prevent completion before the deadline.

Steps to Register Before the Deadline

To successfully complete your UTME 2025 registration, follow these steps:

1. Generate a JAMB Profile Code: Send your NIN via SMS to 55019 or 66019.
2. Purchase the JAMB e-PIN: Available at banks, online platforms, and accredited vendors.
3. Visit an Accredited CBT Centre: Complete your registration by providing biodata, thumbprint, and choosing exam subjects.
4. Print Registration Slip: Ensure all details are correct and keep a copy for reference.

 Conclusion

JAMB has reiterated that the registration deadline will not be extended beyond March 8, 2025. Candidates who fail to register by this date will miss out on the 2025 UTME and will need to wait until the next exam cycle in 2026.

For the latest updates, candidates are advised to visit the official JAMB website (www.jamb.gov.ng) or an accredited CBT centre.
