JAMB enrolls 1, 442, 309 UTME candidates

In the fifth week of JAMB 2024 UTME registration, the board reports 1,442,309 candidates registered, according to its weekly bulletin. Prospective candidates are urged to finalize registration by the deadline (February 26th, 2024), with no anticipated extensions.

In response to fraudulent activities involving the free UTME application forms for People With Disabilities (PWD), JAMB has modified its verification process. The updated procedure ensures that only authentic candidates with disabilities can benefit from the free application. Under the revised process, candidates with disabilities must pay the prescribed fee during registration, with the JAMB-Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG) refunding the fee later.

In a separate development, the Ekiti State Coordinator of JAMB has urged accredited CBT centers in the state to refrain from conducting overnight registrations. This caution comes amid concerns about heightened insecurity in the country. The Coordinator emphasized the importance of safeguarding the well-being of both staff and prospective candidates. Any accredited center found violating this directive will face significant penalties.
